Kickapoo River Trip

Enjoy canoeing or kayaking on the beautiful winding Kickapoo River on Sunday August 29. It is a very safe, slow moving river that can be enjoyed by a beginner as well as experienced canoe enthusiasts. We are planning a 3-hour trip starting in Ontario and ending at Rockton. Be at Drifty’s to put watercraft into the river at 11 am. Canoe rental will be $35/day and one-person Kayak rental will be $25/day.

Let Jean Clark know if you will be participating. Jean needs a final count of people by Friday, August 27. Five canoes and five kayaks have been reserved, but more can be reserved if needed. To carpool, meet at the Dutch Mill Park N Ride (Beltline and Stoughton Road) by 8:45 am on Sunday August 29.

Directions:  From Madison, take Hwy 14 to Richland Center. Turn north on Hwy 8 to Hillsboro. Then turn west on Hwy 33. Drifty’s is on Hwy 33 in Ontario, at the intersection with Hwy 131. Drifty’s has a red roof and red awnings so it’s easy to spot. There’s a restaurant across the street from Drifty’s (www.DriftysCanoeRental.net).
