CROSS COUNTRY SKIING
Let's go cross-country skiing Sunday, January 30, at Mirror Lake State Park. Meet at 1:00 p.m. in the parking lot at the Park Office just north of Fern Dell Road. Conditions are described on the web site as:"very good to excellent condition with a 7- to 11-inch base. Trails are groomed and tracked for skate and classical skiing."
Please let Joan Quenan know that you are planning to come (608-393-9360 or jquenan@merr.com), so that she can notify you of any change of plans due to weather conditions.
Here are instructions for getting to the park from Highway 12 (exit off 90-94). For those traveling southbound on State Highway 12 from Interstate 90/94, use the B ramp and enter the roundabout from the northeast. Exit the roundabout use the first exit and travel northwest to the Moon Road-Fern Dell Road roundabout. Enter the roundabout from the southeast and exit the roundabout using the 2nd exit and continue to travel northwest, then west about 1.2 miles to the park entrance.
For those traveling northbound on State Highway 12, enter the Highway 12-Timothy Lane roundabout from the south and leave the roundabout using the 2nd exit and continue to travel northwest to the AD ramp roundabout. Enter the roundabout from the southeast and leave the roundabout using the 2nd exit and continue to travel northwest to the BC ramp roundabout. Enter the roundabout from the southeast and leave the roundabout using the 2nd exit and continue to travel northwest to the Moon Road-Fern Dell Road roundabout. Enter the roundabout from southeast and leave the roundabout using the 2nd exit and continue to travel northwest, then west about 1.2 miles to the park entrance.
