Come enjoy a fun afternoon on Saturday, July 3rd for Rhythm and Booms! If you would like to take a dip in the pool bring your swim suit. We will relax and enjoy socializing, games, swimming for the swimmers, and a potluck – bring a dish to share and your own beverage. Around 8:45 pm we will walk about 2 blocks to Wheeler Road, where we will watch the fireworks from a hillside on Wheeler Road at Black Hawk Middle School. Radios will be handy to hear the music that accompanies the fireworks, or you can bring your own, and bring a lawn chair or a blanket and mosquito repellant. The view is great, and we avoid the crowds at Warner Park. When the show is over, you can make a quick get-away if you are parked on Wheeler Rd.

Directions: Starting from Sherman Plaza at the corner of Northport and Sherman, take Sherman Ave. north about 1.5 miles. You will come to a stop sign at Wheeler Rd., and turn left onto Wheeler. The road leading to the Cherokee Community room is the 4th road west from the corner of Wheeler and Sherman. Look for a sign that says 1410-1414 Wheeler Rd. and Cherokee Association Office. There are 10 parking spots. If full, park on either side of Wheeler Rd. Parking is plentiful on Wheeler Rd till about 5:30 or so on Rhythm and Booms Day. If you drive past the sign and get to Commanche Ave., you have gone too far! The Community room is in the Association Office building, a one story building next to the swimming pool with the address 1436 on the building.
